Apartment Living

We got a notice from the apartment people that maintenance was supposed to be in our unit either Friday or Saturday to check all of our appliances, presumably to see what needs to be replaced. But of course, they never showed. So I guess I'll be calling the office tomorrow to remind them to do their jobs....

We haven't had any more wasp problems since they were here - but now we think there's a squirrel in the wall, between our place and the (now abandoned) apartment next door. We keep hearing scratching and scrambling, and it's either in the wall, or there's some little critter running around the apartment.

I really wouldn't be surprised if something had gotten into the place next door. Since the neighbors were evicted, we know the window workers were in there, as well as the electric company to turn off the power, but otherwise the apartment people seemed to have not gone near it. I can only imagine how the previous tenants had left it, and I'm sure it looks even worse now.

So, hopefully the maintenance people will take care of the infestation problem when they show up. I'm tempted to call the emergency number....

And we just assume it's a squirrel - could always be a really big wasp. :D

Edit - Called the emergency number, who were no help. They're just going to pass it on to the apartment people, who won't be here till tomorrow (at the earliest). Why do these things have to happen on Sundays (when the office is closed). First the hot water heater, now this....
