What's Happening....

So, how are things going, now that we're a week into 2011...?

So far, so good, I suppose. Jenny got a couple extra hours added to her schedule, bringing her almost up to full time, and she's been selling a few more of her crocheting projects to her co-workers. She's also been trying to work a little more on her novel, when she has the time.

I've got a few art projects on my plate - some new and some way overdue that I'm concentrating on playing catch-up with first. Also, the first Comicsmiths' Guild anthology comic is printed and should be on it's way here. We'll have those available soon-ish, both on-line and at local shops & events.

We've got all the Christmas decorations down and out to the garage, and are in the beginning stages of completely re-arranging the apartment. So of course, at the moment it's a complete disaster. But when we're done, the plan is to have a real living room and dining room again, with the studio space moved to the smaller bedroom.

We're figuring this will also encourage us to do some much-needed un-cluttering, and get rid of some extra stuff we've been hanging on to for way too long. Or it may just end up in the garage. Guess we'll see....

Pre-Spring Cleaning

We spent the weekend working on the apartment, cleaning house or atleast starting to....

We got some major work done - finally cleaned out all the closets and got rid of a bunch of clothes, shoes and various other things. It's been something we've really needed to do for a while. Now we've got about half a dozen good size boxes of stuff to take to Salvation Army. Also ended up trashing a bunch of stuff as well. Both of us being packrats, it's always hard to part with all of these things we've accumulated, but it's a good feeling when it's gone - less stuff taking up space and less we'll have to pack when we eventually move....

Picked up a couple of small shelves - one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom - and did some rearranging in both rooms. Finally unboxed all of my toys and found places to hang them up in the den. We walked around Home Depot and Lowes for a while, looking for something to use for a pantry, but didn't find anything we were sold on. But we need one, as it would really help our present kitchen situation, so we're still looking.

My original plan was to spend Saturday doing all of the reorganization, and then Sunday was going to be actual (much needed) cleaning. But we still haven't made it to the cleaning part, and the apartment is in mid-cleaning disaster mode right now. My hope is that we'll get the rest of the cleaning done over the next week, but I'm not holding my breath, although I'm quite happy with what we accomplished this weekend.

Jenny had a lot of fun at her rock class on Saturday, and then spent some time watching recorded TV with her folks for a while before heading home when the weather started getting worse. Back to work tomorrow for me, and Jenny's back to looking for work.

Happy (Mini-) Anniversary + Misc.

Yesterday marked the 2 month of wedded bliss point. :) We didn't do anything too romantical - went out to eat at Denny's and spent the day watching Buffy DVDs. We were also able to get a little bit of cleaning done this weekend. The bathroom is atleast done and I finally got the last bookcase (for now) put up in the studio for Jenny's art stuff. It's open at the top, and big enough for her to store some of her canvases, so she can get them off the floor and out of tripping radius.

Tigger and Lincoln went over to Seattle for the weekend, so we were kinda watching the animals in the meanwhile (mostly just letting them out and bringing them back in, and making sure they're alive and happy). We passed on going to CdA this weekend, although Jenny'll be heading over tomorrow for a little while. Shannan (new-friend-thru-Kirsten) came over this evening, so we finally got to meet and hang out. Was fun - they (her and husband Scott) seem like very cool folks.

Fall TV starts at the end of the month, so we've got to start budgeting our time and figuring out how much of our schedule we're going to waste on prime time shows this year. Some are a given (Heroes, Prisonbreak, Bones, Numb3rs, Ghost Whisperer, Criminal Minds, Medium, Supernatural). But there are a few new shows competing for our attention as well (Bionic Woman, Journeyman, Chuck, Reaper, Moonlight). Of course, who knows how many of these will even last thru the first season, knowing full well how these networks operate. We're just lucky that CBS is bringing back Jericho for 7 episodes mid-season to (hopefully) wrap up most of the plotlines and the giant cliffhanger, before re-cancelling it. We'll miss Studio 60, Stand Off and Drive, though. Oh well....

Randomness

Been working on putting the apartment back together, specifically our studio space. It's beginning to actually look like... a studio! (amazing)

I haven't done much in the art department recently, but Jenny's picked up some canvases and is working on more water-life-series paintings. Hooray for unemployment!

I've now become hooked on Sudoku puzzles. Eh, so I'm a little late to the scene on that one...

Jenny's job hunting continues. She's only had one interview so far, and while it apparently went really well, she still hasn't heard back from them, which is unfortunately discouraging.

Finally took care of our thank you notes for the wedding. Just snuck in under that "send out within 2 months after the wedding" window...

Oh, and I'm well over the plague I had a little bit ago. Jenny and I both keep passing some little cold back and forth, but nothing major. Just normal sneezing and sniffles. Would be nice to be completely over it, though.

Update With Less Then 2 Weeks To Go

Last Saturday I had my wedding shower. Jenni threw it at her house, and her mom, my mom, sister and one of my aunts, and my friend Tigger all came. We all had a great time talking and opening presents and watching Jenni's son be funny. When I got home and started opening stuff completely, I found that the plates in both boxes of dishes where broken. :( One set of plates was practically powder, and only one was broken in the other set. One of the sets of bowls was fine (oddly enough the only one I opened at the shower), but the other one had a bowl with a crack almost all the way through it. I didn't even get down to the mugs in either set, so I don't know if they were broken too or not. Peter and I returned them to Sears yesterday, but they didn't have any more, so they called over to the North store, and they said they had two. So, we stopped to have Thai food for dinner (mmm!), then headed up to the other Sears, but when we got there, the girl had been mistaken, and they only had one. Maybe, she wasn't instilling confidence in me, so we decided to keep our gift card, and try the Sears in CDA. I was supposed to be doing that now (right meow), but home stuff and writing back and forth with friends through myspace has kept me from leaving, so I guess I'll head over there this evening or tomorrow.

I also got my wedding dress back yesterday, and though I do weigh more then I want to (Grrr!), and I am eating better and trying to exercise more, I still look great in it. But that's what wedding dresses do. When I head over to CDA, I need to get Mom to help me into the dress so she can hem it.

I also need to return Dad's wedding suit to him. I didn't even know my parents still had their wedding clothes till Dad offered his for Peter to wear. But though the pants fit fine (very 70's), the sleeves of the jacket were too short. Peter and I went to Value Village several days ago and found two suits that fit him and were good colors. I think one was $9.99, and the other $6.99. Bargins! Yay! Last night he found a good shirt to wear with the grayer one, and now just needs shoes.

This past weekend, Peter also rearanged the studio area (formerly living room), and took a bunch of boxes out to the garage (after sweeping it out). It looks really good, and we've got LOTS of room now. Everything was so cramped before, I'm surprised we didn't move stuff sooner. We also took the TV out of the bedroom and heaved it up onto a sturdy and wide bookcase by the computer. So now we can watch TV while working on art or playing on the computer. We'll have to get a VCR or something for the TV so we can watch movies too. Our bedroom still needs work, but we don't spend a lot of time in there. The bathroom could use some shelves. And the kitchen needs to be gutted and just redone completely, but that's never going to happen. We are going to get a stand alone pantry though, so we can put food in there and free up room to put our new pots and pans in a cupboard, instead of leaving them in their box where they do me no good.

So, back to wedding stuff, we still need to put in our orders for the food and get drinks and some champaigne and sparkling cider for toasts. We really need to buckle down and decide on our vows and how the ceremony is going to go. And there are other nit picky things, but those are the big two things left. So, ALMOST READY. AAAAAAAGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! It's so close! Ooo! Need to find out when to pick up the marriage certificate too! THAT, is important. Name changing papers too. :)

Happy 4th of July! (tomorrow!)

What Else Could...?

Well... So far it's been an interesting weekend. Before the weekend, on Thursday, my allergies decided to become a real cold so I didn't get pretty much anything done then, and slept in on Friday. I got my haircut Friday afternoon with Jenni and kiddos. Another exciting time ending with her son in another headlock with me holding his arms. I don't know what the kid has against haircuts. That evening, Tigger came over and we went to Denny's to have dinner, then came back here to talk for a while. We knew we'd be up later then we normally are, but Peter ended up going to bed at around 3AM and Tigger and I watched the sun come up while talking and she left about quarter to 6AM. I got to sleep soon after. So Peter and I ended up sleeping in.

We were eating lunch and Peter remembered the office for the apartment complex closes at 2 on Saturdays for some asinine reason. The clock said it was 1:50, and we were still in our pj's. So we decided to get to the office some other day. We need to renew our lease soon and they've finally put notices on the garages that the owners need to come forward or move their stuff out or it will be tossed out on June 1st. Yay! So we want to make sure the office firmly knows that we want a garage, and one of the 2 in front of our apartment would be great. (Not that they don't know with Peter and I asking frequently over the past several months.)

Then, Peter and I ended up moving the futon/couch into the former office, now den, and then moving the miniature painting desk too. So then the den was almost complete, just a few more things need to be moved and set up. Once we finally got showered and dressed, it was nearly 4 and we still wanted to head to CDA to visit my parents and do some shopping too. So, then we had to blow off going to the comic con at Gonzaga and were out the door at 4:30. The antique store I had been to with my folks earlier in the week was already closed when we got there, but otherwise our shopping was sucessful and we visited for a while with our Border's friends. After spending some time at my parent's house, we headed out around 10 or something, maybe earlier, I can't remember.

Everything was going fine till we passed the last exit to Post Falls. Suddenly the truck started making horrible noises and losing power. Luckily, there was an exit to the state line coming up, so I started pulling off and the truck died. I still had momentum so I got it to restart and put on my hazard lights as the person behind me looked like they were going to drive up my tailpipe. I wanted to continue on to the rest stop, but the truck died again, and I could only pull off to the side of the off ramp. I tried a few times to restart the truck, but it wouldn't start, so Peter and I got out and lifted up the hood. Right then a bunch of cars drove by and someone in one of them laughed at us like Nelson from the Simpsons ("Ha Ha!"). So I swore back at them. I don't know if they heard me, but who laughs at someone with car troubles on the side of the road?

So, then I thought maybe the truck needed more oil or something, so put in the 2 bottles I had. It still wouldn't start, so we grabbed some flashlights and headed for the rest stop to call my Dad. There was a towtruck driver and another guy already there getting ready to tow a different vehicle, and after discovering no payphone at the rest stop, I asked the guys if I could borrow a cell phone, or if they would be willing to jump the truck, even though they were busy. I described the problem and that we had seen that the battery was all corroded again. The tow-truck driver suggested that it sounded like the alternator (which had just been fixed a couple months ago), and that even if he jumped it, that the headlights would drain the battery long before we got home.

So I called Dad and he came out to help us. After taking the leads off the battery, we discovered that the one leading to the starter was so corroded, that it was nearly gone. Dad tried to put it back together and jump my truck, but it still refused to start. Since Dad's truck was now facing the wrong way on the side of a busy off ramp, a cop came by and wanted to know what was going on. While Dad was on his cell with the Chevron emergency roadside assistance people, we explained what was going on. The cop still decided to run our IDs, and it seemed to take a really long time. Although, with all the crap that's happened since we moved down here, this was the 4th or 5th time I've had to talk to a cop in the almost 3 years since we've been down here, so all that probably came up when he ran my license. But once he gave our IDs back (never asking for Dad's) he told us to turn Dad's truck around and get my truck out of there ASAP. (As though we weren't trying to!) So then we stood around waiting for the towtruck and Dad turned his truck around (and called Mom to tell her what was going on).

The towtruck was one of those flatbed ones, and I had never seen exactly how those work, so watching that was interesting. Dad told the guy we wanted it dropped off at Parker Toyota in CDA who work on all the family cars, and the guy told us we could just go then, he knew where that was and didn't need our help unloading the truck. So, Dad drove us back to his house, where we ended up borrowing Mom's car and leaving my parent's house (again) at Midnight. Also, since it's Memorial Day weekend, there's no way the truck will even be worked on till Tuesday at the earliest. But at least it's not on the side of the road!

We had been planning on stopping to get something to eat on the way home right before the truck died, so we were pretty hungry. But I just wanted to get home. Which we did make it home safe and sound.

Now, we had bought some soda in CDA since Tigger had drank the last of our Mt. Dew, and before we went to bed Peter put in away in the 'fridge. So, this morning, well... Noon, I was in the 'fridge trying to find some food when I noticed some liquid on the glass shelf above the bottom drawer. Yep, you guessed it. One of the Pepsi's (the one at the very back on the bottom) had decided to leak. I, er..., had to spend some extended time in the bathroom at that moment, so Peter ended up cleaning it up by himself. Apparently, since it was the soda in the back, everytime he moved a soda out of the box, a small wave of soda would accompany it, spilling onto the floor. So, there was a lot of sticky everywhere. And to top it all off, both Peter and I have splitting headaches.

Some good things though, we have our wedding invitations and they look beautiful. And, we picked up at Borders one of the Kaiser Chiefs' CDs. We hear them on Triple J all the time, so we knew we would like the rest of their album. While Tigger was here I got some good pictures of her because she was complaining that she didn't have any new (and good) pictures of herself, and I happened to have my digital camera handy. AND! And, now we are much more motivated to get our own car insurance and to get that new vehicle that Mom said she's going to help us get. So that's good.

So, now I'm going to interrupt Peter from rearranging the living room (now studio!) so he can look over what I've written and see if there's anything he'd like to add... -Jenny

Super Monday

Picked up (yet) another bookcase today at Big Lots on the way home to add to the apartment disaster. This one is going in the office/den to hold the rest of our movies. We're hoping to get rid of a few tapes this weekend when Jenny's folks are having their garage sale. We'll also be planning on heading over to the 1st annual Spokane Comic Con on Saturday. Between all that, driving back and forth, shuffling furniture and (hopefully) working on wedding stuff, it should be a full weekend. And it's only Monday? Guess it's going to be a long week... :)

On the entertainment front, tonight was the season finale of Heroes. It's going to be a long wait till next season, but atleast they're supposed to be producing more content online to keep people entertained till it resumes. This is one of the best dramas on television right now, and definately the best screen adaptation (movie or TV) of the superhero genre. I don't think NBC was really expecting it to be as huge a hit as it ended up, but they've certainly embraced it, with a spin off series coming next year and a whole catalog of serialized graphic novels available on their web site that explores side plots and the histories of the characters.

My only complaint is that the phenomenal success of Heroes cast a long shadow over Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, another new drama (which was another of my favorites)that debuted immediately after it. Studio 60 just didn't compare, ratings wise, and since they were both new shows, Studio 60 got the axe and won't be returning next season...

The Great Reorganization Begins....

Yesterday we did a whole bunch of running around, shopping and planning (for both apartment stuff and wedding stuff) and have today begun the apartment rearranging process. We found a big shelving unit at Home Depot that Jenny transferred all of her plants on to and I just finished putting up another bookcase in the (for now) office, which is where all of our gaming stuff from the dining room is going.

So for now, and the immediate future, the apartment is a huge disaster with stuff strewn everywhere in various states of movement. Pictures will most assuradly follow, when all is said and done. I liken it to those little puzzles where you have to slide the pieces around to make a picture, but there's only one empty space to work with....

And another week commences....

Jenny got a call today from the framing shop she'd applied at back before she quit Michaels, and has an interview set up for this Thursday. This was the job she was the most interested in, really, as it was a non-corporate framing position and she wouldn't have to deal with all the other unrelated retail mess that she had to put up with at Michaels.

My work continues to be OK. I've come to terms with the fact that I need to stick with this job atleast for the forseeable future (the next couple of months or so), as I've atleast got to stick it out until after the wedding, our vacation, and Jenny's back to being gainfully employed. It will be easy to take any time off that I'll need, and I'm certainly liking the paychecks....

Sunday was Mother's Day, and Jenny headed over to CdA to spend time with her mom and give her the present she bought - a cute apple tea pot. When they first moved into their house, her mom was torn between decorating the kitchen with apples or in a rooster motif. She ended up going with the apple scheme, but it proved a lot harder to find apple themed things then roosters. We see kitchen accessories and decorations with roosters on them everywhere now and very few apples, so her mom was (not surprisingly) quite pleased with her gift.

On the wedding front, while we did get our invitations in last week, they weren't exacty what we'd expected them to be and after some deliberating decided to reorder them from a different supplier. So, on the con side, we'll have to wait another week to send them out. But on the pro side, they'll be a little more interesting, hopefully look like what we wanted, and it'll give us some time to finish up our gift registries and we can include that information with the announcements. Jenny's going to get together with Jenni on Wednesday to work on registry stuff, among other things.

We did some looking around for a ring for me this weekend. The original plan was to find something inexpensive at an online store, but when we realized the cost wouldn't be too much different, we decided it would be better to buy something locally so I could try it on and get exactly what I want. Jenny ordered her shoes for the wedding, and they should be here about the same time as the new invitations.

Since we're going to be sticking around this apartment for a while longer (probably atleast a year), the plan now is to do some serious rearranging of the furniture to make things more comfortable. The TV, couch, gaming stuff, and all the bookcases are going into what is now the office, to make a sort of den/cozy entertainment room. We'll end up with a much more open atmosphere to the living room (which will turn into our studio space), and we'll be able to expand our kitchen/dining room space a bit. A lot of this process will mean purchasing some more/new furniture, but that's something we've needed to do for a while - like a pantry for the kitchen, and some more shelves for all of our ever growing library.

I've been using a very cool room planner tool I found online that's part of a furniture store's website. It lets you customize the rooms and furniture, save and print your designs, and sure beats constantly redrawing the same room over and over on paper. We did get out to see Spiderman 3 last week - I think the 2nd one was the better over all, but this one was definately a fun movie. I believe (as apparently many others do) that they tried to cram too much into it, and there was easily enough material to make two good movies from what they had. I'd say the bad guys, specifically Harry, were the real stars of this one. It's got a fair share of corny bits, and would probably be easier to watch on DVD (being excessively long), but is still well worth the price of admission just for the special effects and action sequences.

The TV season is winding down over the next week or two, so I suppose that'll free up some of our time when most of our shows go into reruns for a while. I'm thinking I'll do a finale wrap up post - maybe do a little mini-review of all the stuff we're currently watching.... as soon as I find the time. :)

I was planning on burning through all of the Harry Potter novels, so I'd be all caught up when the last one came out, but I kinda got slowed down and stalled out in the middle of the 4th book. I'm trying to get back into it and get finished so I can move on. From what Jenny says, of the series, it's the one to get stuck on - Rowling really tried to put too much in and it goes on forever. But once I get through it, the next two books are supposed to be back to being entertaining. Jenny just finished the 4th book, as well as the 4th book in the David Farland fantasy series ("The Runelords") she's simultaneously reading.

A Whole Week Into 2006

We did our traditional weekly trek into Coeur d'Alene today - stopped off at Borders and picked up my new +/- CD (which I just realized I haven't opened yet, time to fix that), and said Hi to everybody. We said Hi to the family, read the papers from the past week, ate some burgers and snagged the Help Wanted section from today's paper. We also got a roll of film developed while we there with Christmas pics of the house and a few Halloween pics. Those will eventually be scanned and will probably find there way up here.

The job search will continue with renewed vigor tomorrow. I'm doing a short-term revision of my resume for now, and I saw a few promising openings listed on-line that I'm going to try for.

I've also got some art I need to finish (and more to start), and I've actually been sketching every day - and I've seen definate improvement. Jenny has been working on the story for one comic idea we've been tossing around, and she had a dream the other night which has inspired another idea. More about that will hopefully follow.

We still need to do some after-holiday cleaning and organizing: the miniatures area is a mess, the file boxes need to be re-organized (especially with tax time coming) and we really need to put up some art and decorate this place. It seems really bland without the holly and other Christmas decorations up. Oh, and we need to vacuum, but we'll probably wait until the work-peoples come and change our lights and (hopefully) clean off the ledge in the hallway that's covered in grime. Atleast if that happens, we'll have a place to put all of our extra boxes, which will in turn help in the cleaning and organizing. It's a wonderful little cycle!

Now, if we can get back on our exercise routine again....

For now, it's off to the living room where we shall watch episodes of Firefly, I shall draw in my sketchbook and Jenny shall crochet.

Furniture Shuffle

We finally got the queen-sized bed from Tigger's place, and moved the futon into the living room to replace the couch. The couch has now found a home at Jamie and Maria's place, since their little couch was literally falling apart. While the original plan was to move the futon into the office and turn that room into the "entertainment room", we really like it as the office now.

The apartment is really coming together now; it actually feels comfortable. It feels more like a home than the other place ever did. We've still got some to unpack, but it'll get done eventually.

We're both fairly sick right now. Jenny's allergies have flared up and we both might have sinus infections. We went out to Safeway tonight and stocked up on soup and medicine. I suggested to Jenny that she should call in sick tomorrow - what are they going to do, fire her?

I've got to keep this short for now. The NyQuil I took is kicking in and I'm feeling drowsy, I'd better wrap this up.

The Weekend's Over; Our's is About to Begin...

So, since Monday is our Friday (usually, Jenny sometimes gets odd days off, but I always have Tuesday and Wednesday's off), our weekend is finally almost here. This week has seemed to go on forever....

Work has been getting busier and busier, plus we've been preparing ourselves for the release of the new Harry Potter book on Friday night. Both Borders and Hastings are having midnight release parties for the book and have been taking pre-orders for the last few months. We're now getting the wave of people who are starting to see the coverage on TV and either think the book is already out, or want to reserve a copy and are upset when I tell them I'll have to put them on a waitlist, since all of our initial orders have been spoken for. Well, luckily neither Jenny nor I have to work the party that night (she's opening and I work until 9, when the party starts). Still, I'm sure it'll be a big mess, and I get to be one of the openers the next morning!

With the weekend being so hectic, we've really not had much time to work on art or relax much, but we've been slowly rearranging the apartment some. We were planning on moving the couch, TV and bookcases into the larger bedroom and making it sort of a den/TV room. Then we discovered that the couch won't fit through the door....

So, we came up with plan B. Jenny's painting stuff is staying in there and we're moving all of the gaming stuff in as well (we still need to find a table though, I hate playing on the floor). My art stuff and the computer desk move into the dining/living room area and all of the comic boxes will finally leave the living room floor and go back in our bedroom. We've been here a year, and we're finally getting somewhat organized.

And on the home-front, there's still been some annoying yelling from neighbor kids; but no drunken singing, door slamming or late night radio blasting for a couple of days. Small victories, I suppose. Tomorrow I'll try to get the bathroom cleaned and hopefully we'll go thrift-store shopping for a table. Wednesday will be driving to Spokane for new comics (plus last week's) and maybe a movie or something. This Friday is our two year anniversary, and we'll both be at work, so we want to do something special before then to mark the occasion.

And Life Goes On

First off, my thoughts go out to Londoners and their loved ones. I can only guess the feeling in the UK today, but I'm betting it's similar to the sense of shock and numbness that we felt on 9/11. God bless.

So far, the drunk guy hasn't come back, but the night is still young...

Today was my "Monday", and I really wasn't quite moving up to speed today. I woke up this morning, staggered out of bed, and the first thing I see on the news is about the subway being bombed. Kinda caught me a little off guard.

I spend quite a bit of time online on a forum that's based out of the UK, so it was odd this morning, reading the thread about the bombing as information was trickling in. I already knew the outcome (reading it 6 hours after), but the inital reports were that it was an "electrical malfunction" on one of the lines. And then as more reports came in, the questioning began: "is this a terrorist attack?"

I remember waking up on Sepember 11th and hearing the morning DJ talking about the Pentagon being hit. But until that day, the morning show was on a one-day delay from a station in Anchorage, and so when they said the date, I was confused. And then when I realized what they were talking about, I was more confused. Then I turned on the TV to see a replay of the first tower being struck. Confusion. Chaos. Shock.

More pleasant thoughts....

Even with crazy drunk guy seranading us, it looks like we'll be sticking around in this apartment for a while. We could move, but we're figuring that it would exhaust what little money we've saved (1st/last/deposit), so we're going to try to make the best of what we've got here.

We were going to majorly move the apartment around, but the couch won't fit through the door into the larger bedroom. That cut short our plan to make the old office into our tv room/den. We did go ahead and move the "office stuff" into the living room so it's not so crowded. The plan now is to finally get a table (we've only been here a year) and put it in the big bedroom -- making it the game room. Whenever we get everything cleaned up and put away, I'll have to take some pictures and put 'em up on here.

That's about it for now, I guess. I'm tired and Jenny just got home from work. Time to try to get to sleep before anybody starts singing....

A Slow Start to a Lazy Day

The shelling did finally stop last night, as did the screaming neighbor children below. Verily, we need a new abode.... Jenny got to watch the fireworks at work, from the roof of the building with her co-workers. Apparently they had even less customers than we did.

Slept in a little longer than planned.... for once, Jenny was up about an hour before me. I wasn't out of bed 'till almost noon, and it took even longer before either of us were ready to face the day.

We did finally make it over to her parents' place (where I'm at now), and we got the garage organized and cleaned as well as the mini-green house moved from the dining room to the living room. Laundry is proceeding currently.... Since it's already after 5, it doesn't look like we'll get out to look at apartments today, however.

I should be working on some sort of art, but I didn't bring my sketchbook over, and we'll be here for atleast another hour or two (laundry + dinner). I guess it's back to my book; I'm currently reading The Drawing of the Dark by Tim Powers. It's his first novel, and one of the last couple of his that I haven't read yet. I believe it's long out of print, but I finally found a weathered paperback copy at a used book store. So far, excellent (as per usual for Powers).
